Holy Land Cradle is proud to introduce to you our handicrafts made of the sacred olive wood trees in Bethlehem, the place where Jesus was born, and Jerusalem the place where Jesus died, was resurrected, and ascended to heaven. Our crafts are mainly religious, artistic crafts made using a friendly, environmental process where no tree is ever damaged. Handicrafts are an expression of our Christian history, culture, and heritage which is passed down through generations. The aim of Holy Land Cradle is to preserve Christianity in Bethlehem and to promote Christian crafts. Most of the Holy Land olive wood workshops are family owned, are often located within Christian homes themselves, and are usually run by people who have inherited the business from their father and Grandparents. Christians like me acquire craft skills through working in the family workshop since childhood. Handicraft production becomes a time of relaxation where we flow out our creative energy at maximum, enjoying how an olive wood trunk begins to change into a precious figure in our hands. Our community depends mainly of two kinds of craft, the Olive Wood and Mother of Pearl. These crafts are not a male-dominated work but are made by artisans of all genders and ages.
Recently I emigrated to the U.S. and found out that there is great love for these crafts in America, so I decided to embark on a journey to help Holy Land Christians. With this purchase, you will not only have a holy craft at your house made by Christians, but you will also help to ensure the future of Christianity in the holy land.
